Tom Woods is an Emmy Award winning director/cameraman and throughout its 30-year history Woods TV has produced a wide range of original programming, including documentaries from around the world, made-for-TV films for the international market, and corporate videos for such clients as IBM, EDF and Thomson. Although the focus of Woods TV later shifted to content localization and production services, original production always remained a guiding force for the development of the company.
In February 2010 Woods TV acquired Dissidents, a leading European producer of documentary and factual programming, as well as advertising and corporate communications. Dissidents brings to Woods TV an extensive catalog of films, including documentaries produced and distributed internationally for air on such channels as France Television, Arte, RTBF, YLE, TVP and CBC. Dissidents' corporate experience includes work for L'Oreal, Club Med, Airbus and Carrefour.
With the acquisition of Dissidents, Woods TV expands its offering to include the production of a wide range of original content, including documentary, entertainment and reality programming, as well as advertising and corporate communications. Several productions are already underway, including:
o Django 100 Years (concert + documentary): A tribute to legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt
o Man 2.0 (documentary): An investigation of cutting-edge science that seeks to improve and prolong human life.
o Eco Warriors (documentary): An immersion into the world of environmental activists who have turned to violence to advance their cause.
Dissidents was founded in 1999 by journalist/producer Pascal Dupont, who has joined the Woods TV team. For more information about Dissidents please visit www.dissidents.fr
